Program Scholarships

The theatre program has scholarship funding available for tuition support. Usually, first-year students apply for these scholarships by auditioning and interviewing prior to their arrival at the University in the fall.  Please set up an appointment with a faculty member if you would like to apply for this support.  Most majors are eligible for scholarships.  The funds are limited and vary from $1500 - $2000 a semester towards tuition.  Most first-year students start at the bottom level.  If you arrive at the university without having been interviewed, you must contact Professor Mindi Logan about what funding is still accessible.  However, this funding is not limitless, and the faculty feel the need to be equitable in the use of these funds.  Realize that as a first-year student, if the faculty feel that you are truly giving back to the program through your participation and support, this financial support will increase over your time in the program.  Your support from these funds is usually guaranteed at your base level for the time you are a major in our program.  Students may lose scholarship support for the following reasons:

  • change of major or minor

  • lack of participation in any program productions over the course of a year without proper justification for not being involved

  • inappropriate activity during any program production, i.e., drug or alcohol abuse

  • withdrawal from the university
